Prof Wierda - MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA

Prof Wierda from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, USA, shares his views with ecancer on upcoming trials in CLL and how the data from these will allow for new treatment approaches.  He acknowledges the excitement balanced with the challenges in the next few years in terms of novel therapies and how these fit with traditional therapies. Prof Wierda emphasises the importance of the integration of prognostic factors into therapy to predict early outcome and allow for a more personalised approach to CLL treatment. He also comments on the important aspect of the economics of treatment in this regard.
