Prof David Ilson - Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York City, USA

Prof David Ilson speaks to ecancer at the 2019 International Gastrointestinal, Liver and Uro-Oncology Conference (IGILUC) in Cairo about the latest treatment advances for metastatic gastric cancer.

Prof Ilson reviews recent data on the role of genomic profiling and immunotherapy, optimal chemotherapy regimens and emerging novel targets for treatment.

For the future, Prof Ilson hopes that the use of the drugs discussed will become refined to determine the benefits these may provide for the patients. Additionally, there are ongoing trials examining the role of PDL-1 as a biomarker for patient benefit.
